Executive Director:
Donald A. Haight

Donald A. Haight is the Executive Director of the Samaritan Family Counseling. He taught in the Counselor Education Department at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh for 34 years. He received his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Florida in counselor education with a minor in psychology. During his tenure at Plattsburgh, the college received full accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) for programs in school counseling, mental health counseling, and student affairs practice in higher education. 

Dr. Haight has been active in numerous local, state, and national associations. He served as president of the New York Counseling Association and the Northeast Region of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. In addition, he served on the CACREP Standards Revision Committee and served as a site visitor for more than a dozen colleges and universities throughout the country.

During his professional education, he gained counseling experience at all levels of education and in community agencies. Earlier in his career, he served as co-director and counselor for the Human Development and Counseling Center in Peru, NY.

Staff Therapist:
Alison L. Rosenbaum

Alison Rosenbaum is a fully licensed mental health counselor in New York State. She has received her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Counselor Education Department at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. The Mental Health Counseling Program from which she graduated is fully recognized by the State of New York and is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The Plattsburgh State Mental Health Counseling Program is one of five such programs accredited by CACREP in New York State. She is also currently working on her Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling from Plattsburgh as well.

Ms. Rosenbaum has several years of work experience in the mental health field. This includes being an individualized care coordinator and working in the intensive-in-home service at Behavioral Health Services North (BHSN). She has additional work experience as a skill builder with BHSN and with the Adventure Based Counseling Program with BHSN as well. She has worked in the adolescent treatment unit at Butler Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and as a group home worker and group facilitator at Berkshire Farms in Plattsburgh, NY. In addition, she has worked at the Counselor Education Clinic at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
